Thanksgiving Service and Book of Condolence for Queen Elizabeth II

If you watched Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral on TV and wished you were there, this is an opportunity to attend a thanksgiving service in her honour. It will take place this Sunday, 25th September, at St James’ Church, Burnley Road, Altham. Our Book of Condolence will also be there for you to sign.

The service starts at 2pm, with everyone seated by 1.45pm.

For all those who wish to pay their respects and share their thoughts, please do come along and join us.

Altham Parish Council would like to invite you to a Thanksgiving Service, in honour of Queen Elizabeth II, on Sunday, 25th September, at St James’ Church, Burnley Road, Altham.

It’s a way for people to commemorate the Queen’s passing and all are welcome to attend

Queen Elizabeth II Has Died

Queen Elizabeth II has died at Balmoral, aged 96, after reigning for 70 years.

The Queen was born Elizabeth Alexandra Mary Windsor, in Mayfair, London, on 21 April 1926. She came to the throne in 1952 and is Britain’s longest-serving monarch. On 8th September 2022, she passed away peacefully at Balmoral.

All of us at Altham Parish Council are extremely saddened to hear this news.

We will have a book of condolence available, and are discussing how we are going to honour and respect the Queen’s passing. We will let you all know the location of the book, timings and other details as soon as possible.
