On Saturday, 11^th November 2023, Altham Parish Council is commemorating the 140^th anniversary of the Moorfield Colliery Pit Disaster, and are inviting members of the community to join them in remembering those men and boys who so tragically lost their lives on the fatal morning of Wednesday, 7^th November, 1883.

The itinerary for the day will be as follows:

13.00pm  –  Wreath laying at the Memorial site, Burnley Road, Altham, BB5 5 TX. If you would like to bring a wreath to lay, that would be very welcome and much appreciated

13.30pm  –   Service at St James Church, Altham, Burnley Road, Altham, BB5 5UL
