Site Clearance Tunstall Drive

Following a request from a local parish resident, the Parish Council agreed to clear the site pictured here as a one-off goodwill gesture for the residents on Tunstall Drive.

The work was carried out on behalf of the Parish Council by The Accrington Gardener; an excellent job job done, which was appreciated by the residents also.

Plant Theft Attempt

On Sunday morning, 7 July 2024, around 7.30am, this man arrived on a mobility scooter and thought it was okay to steal some plants out of the flower beds at the Moorfield Colliery Memorial, Burnley Road, Altham, which had only recently been planted by the Parish Council.

If it had not been for a diligent resident who saw this happening and challenged him to put them back, who knows how many he would have taken. A big thank you to the resident!

It just goes to show how low some people will go just to get what they want.

This weekend, people across the world will be doing the same, commemorating those people who have been tragically killed or hurt whilst carrying out their work.
